Skill Labs run best in a specific environment. Before launching a lab, confirm your device, connection, and browser meet the requirements below to avoid common setup issues.
What device do I need to use Skill Labs?
- Use a desktop or laptop computer. Mobile devices and tablets are not supported.
- Make sure your operating system and browser are updated to the latest version.
What internet connection do I need?
- A stable internet connection is required. Wired connections are preferred over Wi-Fi.
- Minimum recommended speed: 10 Mbps.
- Avoid VPN or proxy connections — these can interfere with VM connections inside the lab.
- Disable pop-up blockers for the Skill Labs site.
Which browsers are supported?
- Recommended: Google Chrome (latest version) and Microsoft Edge (latest version).
- Not recommended: Mozilla Firefox. Firefox may interfere with the embedded virtualization components used in our labs, causing slow or unresponsive screens, inability to type in VMs, and network connection errors.
Note: If you are currently using Firefox, switch to Chrome or Edge before launching your lab. Many common lab issues are resolved simply by changing browsers.
Do I need to allow pop-ups?
Yes. Skill Labs may open content in new tabs or windows. Make sure pop-up blockers are disabled for the Skill Labs site in your browser settings.
